How these map to yt-dlp
Each control maps to a fixed, validated set of yt-dlp arguments on the
server. Options that execute commands or read files — --exec,
--external-downloader, --load-info-json,
--output — are deliberately not exposed, because a public
endpoint that accepts arbitrary flags is a remote-code-execution hole.
Everything here is a fixed menu, so nothing you type becomes a flag.

The Internet Archive hosts public domain and freely licensed material, and its files need no authentication to fetch. This is the one platform here where every item is licensed for reuse, which makes it the safest to build on.

Is this legal?
Archive.org hosts public domain works and material its uploaders licensed for reuse. Check the item's own rights statement before republishing anything.
Can I choose the format?
The dropdown lists what the item actually contains. The archive often stores several derivatives of the same recording, and all of them appear.
Large items take a while
Archive items can be gigabytes. The download streams straight to you without being stored, so it starts immediately, but the transfer itself takes as long as your connection needs.
